7 Types of ADHD Treatments:

    1. Holistic Approach to ADHD – Looks at the patient as a whole and develops ways to harness their strengths. A holistic approach covers cognitive, ecological, physical, emotional, behavioral, social, and educational aspects of the patient.
    2. Psychotherapy – Reduces impulsivity and increases the ability to let go of emotions by getting the ADHD patient to examine their own behavior, thoughts, and feelings through discussions with the therapist. Through psychotherapy, the ADHD patient is encouraged to find and focus on their strengths.
    3. Social Skills Training – Uses role-play, coaching, videos of positive behavior, and conflict resolution strategies. The training focuses on how to listen and engage in conversation; entering new group situations; giving and receiving praise and criticism plus coping with frustration in social situations.
    4. Behavior Therapy – Addresses problem behavior and teaches strategies to replace negative behavior and habits with positive ones. Often behavior therapy is implemented by parents after they have undergone parent training otherwise an ADHD coach will guide the patient to systematically improve behavior.
    5. ADHD Treatment Without Medication  [43] – Can include therapy as well as lifestyle changes and strategies to help manage ADHD symptoms. ADHD treatment without medication can include nutritional supplements; diet plans; exercise; ample sleep; homeopathy; meditation; yoga; essential oils; Bach flower remedies; neurofeedback; acupuncture; memory training and brain training.
    6. Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy  [43] – The ADHD patient is encouraged to examine his behavior, emotions, and thoughts. By recognizing their behavior ADHD patients can then strategize to deliberately replace negative patterns. CBT improves self-awareness and self-esteem in ADHD patients.
    7. Homeopathic Treatment for ADHD – homeopathy is used to restore emotional and psychological balance and relieve ADHD symptoms. Coffea Cruda; Synaptol; Verta Alb; Stramonium and Hyoscyamus are popular homeopathic treatments for ADHD.
