In a psychological ADHD evaluation doctors will test daily function, intelligence, executive functions, memory, and personality. There are different psychological ADHD assessment tools for adults and children. For adults, psychological assessment questionnaires are filled in by the individual and sometimes their spouse but for children, ADHD checklists are filled in by the parents and teachers.

During a psychological ADHD assessment doctors will also look at the patient’s medical history, family history, physical condition and examine the patient to eliminate any other condition with similar symptoms.
