List of ADHD Medication for Children

The most commonly prescribed ADHD medications for children are stimulants (amphetamine and methylphenidate). Some are approved for use in children from 3 years old and others are for children from 6 years old. If the stimulation medication causes unwanted side effects or is not effective your doctor may prescribe your child a non-stimulant medication.
